Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you play Cozy Town: Hidden Objects (the "Game"), published by Vasilkoff Ltd ("we", "us"). We built the Game to collect as little as possible: there is no account to create, and we never ask for your name, email address, phone number or photos.
1. Information stored only on your device
Your game progress, coins, hints, collection, daily tasks, settings and tutorial status are saved locally on your device. We do not receive or store this information on our servers. It is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the Game.
2. Information processed by services the Game uses
| Service | What is processed | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Game content downloads (Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore and our content host) |
Your IP address and basic technical request data (such as device type and time), as in any internet request. No identifier of you is sent. | To download the list of new places and their picture packs. |
| Game analytics (Google Firebase Analytics) |
A random app-instance identifier, device model, OS version, language, approximate country, and in-game events such as levels started and completed, tutorial steps, items placed and rewarded ads watched. The advertising ID is not collected for analytics, and analytics data is not used for advertising. | To understand how the Game is played and improve levels, difficulty and rewards. |
| Crash reports (Google Firebase Crashlytics) |
Crash and error details (stack trace, device model, OS version, free memory, app version), a random installation identifier and the level that was open. | To find and fix crashes. |
| Notifications (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) |
A push token that identifies the app installation, not you. | To send occasional notifications about daily gifts, new places and challenges, only if you allow notifications. |
| Advertising (CAS.AI – Clever Ads Solutions – and its partner ad networks) |
Advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, approximate location derived from IP, and ad interactions (for example, whether a rewarded ad was watched). | To show banner and rewarded ads, measure them, prevent fraud and, where you agree, personalise ads. |
| Google Play Games Services (only if you use leaderboards) | Your Play Games player profile and the scores you submit. | To show leaderboards. This is handled by Google under its own privacy policy. |
| Google Play purchases (if offered) | Purchase and order information. We never receive your payment card details. | To deliver and restore items you buy. |
These providers process data under their own privacy policies: CAS.AI, Google (Firebase, Play Games, Google Play) (see also Privacy and Security in Firebase). The list of CAS partner ad networks is available from CAS.AI.
3. Ads and your choices
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the Game asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the Game's data or reinstalling it, after which you will be asked again.
- You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads).
- Rewarded ads are always optional: you choose when to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward.
- If you buy "No Ads", banner and interstitial ads are switched off.
3a. Notifications
On Android 13 and later the Game asks before sending notifications. You can turn them on or off at any time in Settings → Apps → Cozy Town → Notifications.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
We rely on your consent for personalised advertising and notifications, on our legitimate interest in running, securing, improving and funding a free game for non-personalised ads, content downloads, game analytics and crash reports, and on performance of a contract to deliver purchases.
5. Children
The Game is designed for a general audience and is not directed primarily at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Game, contact us and we will help remove it.
6. Sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it except with the service providers listed above, which operate the Game's features, or where required by law. Under California law, the use of advertising identifiers for targeted ads may count as "sharing"; you can opt out by turning off ads personalisation as described in section 3.
7. Retention and security
We do not keep personal data on our own servers. Firebase Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months and crash reports for 90 days; other service providers keep data for the periods described in their policies. All network connections the Game makes use encrypted HTTPS.
8. International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, using safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because your progress is stored on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling. For anything else, contact us below.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the Game changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
